From June 18-21, 2017, the organisers of the Bled eConference are hosting the 30th edition of the eConference in Bled, Slovenia. This edition, the theme is Digital Transformation – From Connecting Things to Transforming Our Lives.

We are a group of 4 students from the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, participating in the Students Bazaar. This site aims to explain our concept, provide a link to the poster and give information about us.

The official Bled eConference site can be found here: http://bledconference.org/

The problem

Internet of Things (IoT): the trend of making all devices connected to the internet. The IoT market has grown very rapidly over the last few decades, and with that rapid expansion came a preference for features over security. After years of neglection, the effect has now become clear: it’s a much bigger problem than most people realise. After a few minor incidents, the 2016 Dyn cyberattack happened. And even though not directly affecting IoT devices, the 2017 WannaCry ransomware attack made cybersecurity risks a mainstream concern. Some have called for governmental regulation as the solution to this problem: we think there’s another way.

Boxey

We propose a solution to this problem, called Boxey. You can read about it in our poster:
